What lead you to improv?
I saw a group showcasing their Improv skills in a bar in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Joining them for drinks I met my wife-to-be and got myself invited to the "To Become Infamous, DKTP Tour." Performing every week a different park in Utrecht doing improv sketches in the open air, followed by Werewolves and accompanied by snacks and beers. A few improv courses later I got on improv teams "6 or 7 hours later", "4Play" and "Half a Sole" to join in Improv Sports tournaments over a number of years. What did you want to be when you grew up? I remember a conversation with my parents asking me what I wanted to become. An HR manager like my mum. Why: cause she's the boss. After their remark that a director is higher in the hierarchy, I decided that that's what I should become then and turned to my newspaper in the back of the car. What did you end up becoming? Currently Machine Learning Consultant. If people were to describe your improv style, what would they say? Calculated and grotesque: two of the most admirable trades for an improviser. Come see me. If you were a type of nut, what nut would you be and why? A peanut. I like peanuts. |
